Saturday Night and Sunday Morning

Saturday 11th of Feb, we decide to drive in to Valencia and explore, Jane navigated expertly through the big city and we found a parking space straight away, in probably the tightest underground car park in the world, I’m glad I don’t have to do that every day.

As luck would have it, (Jane says she planned it) we were right by the tourist office, so we got a map of the city and tickets for a bus tour and we were set.

The bus tour took us around a very beautiful city, with a mix of very old buildings and some lovely new onesp1090977
This was our favourite area called The city of Arts and Sciences, it is built on the bed of the river Turia which was rerouted after major flooding in 1957.

The whole of the old route of the river through the city has been turned into a park called Jardines de Turia, it was a welcome break from the hubbub of the city to have a stroll in the relative peace of these tranquil gardens.p1090971

We purchased a new sat nav which will make the journey that much easier for me, as judging which junction to leave the motorway when towing is not always that easy and I don’t want to make a mistake with the caravan on the back!

After such a full-on day on Saturday we decided to have a more chilled-out Sunday.p1090983p1090983

A walk by the river and up in the hills by our campsite was the order of the day, Navajas is only a small place but the surroundings are beautiful, with rivers and waterfalls all within walking distance of the campsite (see the waterfall in the background below).

Looks like a pretty interesting city. We had a similar situation parking in Barcelona, incredibly tight parking and navigating in an underground car park. Hope things are warming up, it’s 4C here today!

Hi you two. If their paella wasn’t up to scratch, give us a call. As a golfer go to la Magna as you’re off to Murcia.
We’re heading back now, the weather’s been sunny here in France 😢. Sad but only another 3 months and we’ll be back out. Love the pictures you’re looking bright.
    Happy travels. Kevin and Maggie
